Professional Groomer

The Professional Groomer works as part of our team of medical and support professionals and grooms dogs and cats at our beautiful state of the art grooming spa. Grooming services include bathing, conditioning, brushing, drying, haircuts of all kinds, ear cleaning, nail trimming and tooth brushing. Special services also include de-skunking, de-matting and medical bathing. Candidates should possess the following skills at a top level of proficiency: customer service, communication, scissoring/shaving, knowledge of shampoo and conditioning products, dog and cat breeds and grooming requirements, knowledge and use of all standard grooming tools including razor, scissors, cage and hand/stand dryers, safe procedures for nail trimming, ear cleaning and external anal gland expression. A high level of professionalism and customer attentiveness is REQUIRED, along with a full set of personally-owned grooming tools. We have an extensive client following based on the reputation of our grooming staff.


Client Care Specialist – Open Position

Client Care Specialists act as liaisons between our clients and the members of our team. They are usually the first to welcome clients and their pets into our practice, and they are tasked with creating pleasant first impressions. The Client Care Specialist perform administrative duties, and they must enjoy working with clients, show compassion, be professional and have positive attitudes.


Veterinary Technicians

The veterinary technician is an integral member of the veterinary health care team and is educated in the care and handling of animals. The technician performs valuable medical and non-medical services in the clinic under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian. The technician supports the veterinarian through medical evaluation, surgical assisting, laboratory procedures, radiography and anesthesiology. Members of our veterinary technician staff also lead client education.


Kennel Technician

Kennel technicians are in close contact with animals and clients. The kennel technician’s primary focuses are ensuring that each animal is comfortable and that clients receive the level of service indicated by the supervisor and the hospital. Successful candidates must possess high endurance and a willingness to do varying types of hard physical work. Kennel technicians handle a variety of animals, including those whose owners are clients of Wignall Animal Hospital and strays or feral animals brought to the hospital by local animal control officers. Hours include day, weekend, evening and holiday shifts to ensure the continuity of quality care and service when the supervisor isn’t present. Kennel workers have to love animals and be able to work without constant supervision, and they must feel comfortable closely observing the overall conditions of the animals under our care, working closely with the medical team to ensure the animals’ well-beings. Excellent teamwork, communication and animal handling skills and the ability to work 100% on your feet in a very physical job are required for year-round duties both indoors and outdoors.
